General PTO Meeting & Annual Election
Date: Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 6:30 PM
Meeting Location: Lowes Island Library
Our final General PTO Meeting of the school year and Annual Election will be held on Thursday, May 30th at 6:30PM in the school library. During the meeting we will review our accomplishments and budget for the 2023-24 school year and discuss plans for the 2024-25 school year. All are welcome to attend but only members are allowed to vote in the executive board election.
2024 PTO Annual Election Procedures
Per our bylaws, our membership must vote in the executive board by June 30th each year. The executive board consists of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Due to current restrictions on group gatherings, our election will be held online and in person this year.
Voting
- To be eligible to vote, you must be a member of the Lowes Island Elementary PTO with current dues paid for the 2023-2024 school year.
- One vote is allowed per paid membership.
- Voting will open on May 29, 2024 at 5:30 PM and close on May 30, 2024 at 5:30 PM.
- When voting closes, votes will be verified by a non-executive member and the winning candidates announced at the conclusion of the meeting.
- Voting will take place on our website: https://lowesislandpto.membershiptoolkit.com/form/m/278772. Instructions on how to vote will be provided on our website.
- Members are encouraged to verify their membership is up-to-date prior to voting opening. To verify your membership:
- Log into your PTO account: www.LowesIslandPTO.com
- On the home screen, under “Start Here,” click “Pay Membership Dues”
- Under “General contribution & open event registrations,” look for “PTO Membership 2023-2024.”
- If you see this line item, then you have not paid your 2023-2024 dues. You should:
- Click “PTO Membership 2023-2024”
- Select your membership and click “Add to cart”
- On the next screen, scroll down and click “Proceed to Checkout”
- Complete your billing information.
- If you do not see this line item, then you have already paid your dues for 2023-2024 and are eligible to vote!
Running for Office
- Each executive board position is open to general election each year. The executive board consists of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary and Communications Secretary. Anyone can choose to run for these five positions.
- Interested candidates must submit their names by May 20, 2024 at 7:00 PM to the Volunteer Coordinator, Keisha Voigt (Volunteer@LowesIslandPTO.com) via email.
- Candidate profiles will be circulated to the membership for review prior to voting opening.
